Today was the first day back at school for the kiddies. Although I wasn’t there with them (if only I called back the random number that phoned me last night!), I did get to sub in Extended Day today–and I’ll be there tomorrow, and Wednesday.
Right now I’m in that weird limbo phase, where I have no clue what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, or later this year. I’ve signed up for my Praxis (teacher certification test), applied to grad school, applied to a job teaching Junior Kindergarten at a local school, and registered for a job fair held by the local independent schools. Not to mention I’m still waiting to hear back from the Fulbright Program. Rumor is they send out e-mails at the end of this month!
On the days when I’m really worried about how I’m going to pay my mountain of bills, or concerned about the possibility of NONE of the above things going well, I just have to remember that things always seem to work themselves out. Part of life is enjoying the ride, right?
Although I have some disquiet regarding my current state of affairs, it’s good to know that I have quite a bit of work this month. I’ll be at the elementary school several times each week this month for Extended Day. Plus, the hilarious kids really help.
My favorite quote from today: “Don’t worry if I tinkle…I have extra clothes!” Yup, a four-year-old randomly came up to me in the hallway and told me this. It was hard to stifle a laugh. Working with kids is the best; I’m so glad that I left a well-paying job to do this instead. 🙂
