About 2 months ago, I was hired at the Wash U Nursery School (Preschool) for their summer camp. Then I got a call on Monday night…apparently, they have so many of their full-time teachers staying for the summer that they don’t need any additional help.
I’m so bummed by this, for a couple of reasons:
1). I really wanted to work with the little kids. 3-5 years old is my FAVORITE age range.
2). I’m now 2 months behind on finding a job. This means, I cannot work with kids this summer, as all of those positions for summer camps, summer school, etc. are filled.
3). I have to get a meaningless, erratic job–if I can find one.
Honestly, all I really need is something that will make extra money, and allow me time for my summer classes. But I haven’t had to find a summer job in nearly 5 years. And to be honest, I wasn’t all that great at it, even then.
Hubby joked that I could spend my summer writing a screenplay…it would be fulfilling, and if it sold I’d make some decent money. Ha ha ha. Not sure I could be a housewife, even just for the summer.
I guess we’ll have to let fate decide this one.
